Gran Canaria’s best beaches are at Playa del Ingles and Maspalomas, the latter of which is almost six kilometres in length. The capital Las Palmas has many good bars and restaurants and interesting shops. Among places of interest around Gran Canaria are the craft towns of Ingenio, Telde and San Bartolema de Tirajana, a village in a volcano crater.
