Appledore, Two charming fisherman's cottages with a wealth of original features. Situated on famous Irsha Street nestling in the heart of Appledore village.
Appledore...
Is an unspoilt fishing village close to the South West coast and beautiful safe beaches for surfing, swimming and sancastles. Along the bustling Quay you can watch the fishermen unload their catch and enjoy the stunning views across the estuary. The narrow streets, hidden lanes and cobbled courtyards have changed little over the centuries.
Irsha Street runs along the riverbank from the church to the lifeboat station. On either side are multicoloured fishermans cottages to delight the eye and fire the imagination. Slipways lead down to the pebble beach where children fish for crabs and build sandcastle at low tide.
Myra Court is a picturesque cobbled courtyard surrounded by late Georgian cottages. As it is now a conservation area the unique atmosphere may be enjoyed by future generations.
Out and About Appledore is surrounded by beautiful coastal and country scenery. There are many picturesque villages nearby including Clovelly and Bucks Mills. The Tarka Trail is close by, ideal for both walkers and cyclists - bikes are available to hire. The market towns of Bideford and Barnstaple are just a short drive away with their traditional pannier markets.
