The flat is a separate annexe to a fine white period house, originally built in 1848. The house sits amid three acres of landscaped gardens, which include many old specimen trees and a summerhouse. The gardens have been carefully re-created from the original plans designed by Gertrude Jekyll, the famous Victorian writer and gardener. ( Refer to www.jekyllgarden.co.uk ).There are a variety of borders including a rose garden planted with many old fashioned roses. The house is situated about 100 yards from the peaceful New Forest and about a mile from the village of Burley.
Burley is situated in the middle of the New Forest, an outstanding area ideal for walking, mountain biking and other outdoor activities. Riding stables and golf courses are available nearby. Bournemouth, Christchurch Lymington and Southampton are within easy reach by car for beaches, sailing, fishing and shopping. Burley offers a good selection of restaurants and country pubs, one within walking distance from the house.
