Podere Le Monache, (The Nuns) has recently been beautifully converted into four charming apartments. Great care has been taken to restore all its original features whilst incorporating all the modern conveniences.
Set on a hillside in the hamlet of Lano the property dominates one of the most picturesque and spectacular landscapes in Tuscany. This large house dates back to the 11th Century and was once a convent. Over the centuries it was turned into a farmhouse, and recently it has been converted into four charming apartments. Great care has been taken to restore all of its original features: vaulted ceilings, open fireplace, beamed ceilings, whilst incorporating all the modern conveniences.
Each apartment is self contained with its own entrance, terra-cotta patio and outdoor furniture. Barbecues are available, there is also a wood burning pizza oven in the garden. The property offers a garden, covered patios, a large gazebo next to the swimming pool, its own organic olive grove ( produce extra virgin olive oil ) and small woodland. Ideal for those who enjoy walking, with footpaths that start from the property. Situated in the area known as the Heart of Tuscany, within one hour of Florence, Siena and Pisa and close to San Gimignano and Volterra. Castelfalfi, once the summer residence of the Medici family, five minutes away from Le Monache, offers an international standard 18 hole Golf Course, tennis courts and a hunting and fishing reserve.
